Q. |
Why is an EMail Address required to play in Handi-Scram™
and what If I don't have one? |
|
Home |
A. |
EMail addresses function as player IDs since they are guaranteed to be unique.
A Handi-Scram™
team roster lists four unique EMail addresses insuring the
continuing UNIQUE identity of the team as a whole. Once a team is established
a running average of event scores is used to maintain the team's
handicap enabling it to be fully competitive with all other teams at all
times. No substitutions are ever allowed. This guarantees
ongoing balance among all of the Handi-Scram™
teams. An individual player may be on many different
teams all of which will be independently tracked and maintained as long
as team membership remains intact. Therefore, if a player drops
out a new team must be created - it is fundamental Handi-Scram™
to that the team is supreme and indivisible thereby preserving
the integrity and historical record and insuring on-going fairness for
all teams. There is no penalty or charge to form additional
teams. |

Q. |
What if one of the players on my team doesn't have an EMail ID? |
|
Home |
A. |
Any person can obtain a valid EMail address by visiting : |
|
www.Hotmail.com |
|
or |
|
www.Yahoo.com |
|
or you can obtain applicable temporary surrogate by
checking the 'Assign Substitute EMail Address' box when enrolling a
player at: |
|
www.Handi-Scram.com
|
|
In this case the EMail Address will function only as a Handi-Scram™
identity key and will not be usable to send and/or
receive messages over the Internet. |

Q. |
What if one of the players on my team drops out? |
|
Home |
A. |
As discussed below, the recourse is to form a new Team (there is no
charge or fee to make a new team). This insures the ongoing
accuracy of the historical record and precludes distortion or
compromise. The fundamental Handi-Scram™
rules: |
|
|
|
- Every new Handi-Scram™
team must play it's first
event at scratch.
- Once a Handi-Scram™
team has played in a Handi-Scram™
event NO changes to its Name or Roster are
ever permitted.
|
|
|
|
are absolute and mandatory to protect the integrity of Handi-Scram™
for everyone. |

Q. |
Can
I change a player's name? |
|
Home |
A. |
Yes and No. You can change
a player's name if: |
|
|
|
- It is yours, i.e. you enrolled the player and have the EMailID and
Password.
- The player is not a member of any team which has played in a Handi-Scram™
event. This restriction is implemented to eliminate all possibility
of player substitution. It is imperative, for the enjoyment
and benefit of all, that no shadow of doubt or suspicion of
deception ever taint any Handi-Scram™ operation

Q. |
How can we be sure that we will be competitive? |
|
Home |
A. |
The system is self-tuning and adaptive. As teams play in Handi-Scram™
events their handicaps are constantly adjusted by a
simple but extremely effective formula. The team's handicap is
100% of the difference between the team's average 'Gross Score'
(compared to par) to the 'Best Ever Gross Score' and each team's ranking
in every Handi-Scram™
event is determined by their 'Gross Score' for that
event plus 100% handicap. The handicaps are re-computed, within 24 hrs,
in the two affecting circumstances: |
- The Team plays in a sanctioned event.
- Some team shoots a score lower than the standing 'Best Ever Gross
Score' - in this situation the handicaps for all enrolled teams is automatically
re-calculated.
|
|
Teams cannot be altered in any way once it has played in one or more Handi-Scram™
events. No substitutions are ever allowed once a
team has played in a Handi-Scram™
event. In Handi-Scram™
the 'Team' is supreme and indivisible once established so
all teams and all players can be assured there will be no 'sandbagging'.
These operations insure that all teams everywhere remain competitive at
all times.

Q. |
Can I delete A Team? |
|
Home |
A. |
You can delete a team if it has
not played in any Handi-Scram™
events. Once a team has played in one or more Handi-Scram™
events it cannot be deleted as all the scores on the database are uniquely
associated with teams and contribute to the historical record and ongoing
handicap computations and are therefore preserved. See also the 'HowTo'
page. |
